The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Rogério Sarmento recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Carlos Eduardo Ramalho's late challenge caught a Rockbol's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Carlos Eduardo Ramalho helped the player get up and apologised. Wilson Aguiar struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Ediberto Lopes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rockbol. When Rockbol's Rogério Sarmento in the 14th minute got a chance for a shot 14th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The supporters of SC SHOWRINTHIANS PAULISTA booed when Rockbol was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Duarte Pimenta didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Pedrão de Carvalho came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the SC SHOWRINTHIANS PAULISTA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pedrão de Carvalho couldn't finish the play. In the 63rd minute of the match, Wilson Aguiar tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Ediberto Lopes saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 65 minutes into the match, Rockbol's Rogério Sarmento sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ediberto Lopes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Wilson Aguiar's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ediberto Lopes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 68th minute of play. After 72nd play minutes Wilson Aguiar shot 0-1, a short shot which went by Ediberto Lopes and just under the crossbar into goal. Ediberto Lopes acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 86th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Isaltino Tróia. In the 94th minute the ball was on its way in behind Rockbol's goalkeeper Matías Chaves, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Rockbol had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
