AKAI FC's Chico Camargo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Alberto Nunes in the 9th minute of play. After 14 minutes, Bebeto Mineiro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the AKAI FC and the SC SHOWRINTHIANS PAULISTA players grew even worse after the yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in AKAI FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 13th minute. Penalty! 19 minutes into the match, Carlos Alberto Nunes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Chico Camargo. AKAI FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Carlos Alberto Nunes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. 23 minutes into the match, SC SHOWRINTHIANS PAULISTA's Pedrão de Carvalho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Chico Camargo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Caetano Domingues fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored AKAI FC's protests and gave Caetano Domingues a yellow card for diving instead. In the 24th minute, Caetano Domingues hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Chico Camargo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pedrão de Carvalho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Chico Camargo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Carlos Alberto Nunes came up free with the goalie in the 48th minute, the SC SHOWRINTHIANS PAULISTA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carlos Alberto Nunes couldn't finish the play.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Adelino Vaz was the one to do the kick off. If Pedrão de Carvalho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Through an outstanding action, after 55 minutes, Chico Camargo successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 57 minutes into the match, SC SHOWRINTHIANS PAULISTA's Pedrão de Carvalho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Chico Camargo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the last second Chico Camargo throw himself and got hold of the ball when Carlos Alberto Nunes in the 61stth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Alberto Nunes in the 63rd minute of play forced AKAI FC's goalkeeper Chico Camargo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pedrão de Carvalho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chico Camargo having to interfere. Adelino Vaz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 86thth minute of the game Maurício Arce who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SC SHOWRINTHIANS PAULISTA's Ediberto Lopes was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Caetano Domingues blasted a shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ediberto Lopes having to make a save. Maurício Arce received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Ediberto Lopes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. SC SHOWRINTHIANS PAULISTA's Carlos Alberto Nunes got a good chance for a goal in the 98th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. SC SHOWRINTHIANS PAULISTA were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over AKAI FC's much stronger midfield.
