Renato Carvalho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Acácio de Queirós made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Renato Carvalho got free with Acácio de Queirós in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Conrado Luz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 47 minutes of play, Rafael Anderson Wagner FC's Aílton Nóbrega made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sílvio Veloso was left in no man's land by his defense there! When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Conrado Luz stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Arí Godoi struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Acácio de Queirós didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tome. Sílvio Veloso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Conrado Luz, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Delfim Prado struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Sílvio Veloso didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rafael Anderson Wagner FC. In the 76th minute Delfim Prado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sílvio Veloso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Tome's zone, Delfim Prado stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sílvio Veloso came out of the goal and Delfim Prado tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 81 minutes into the match, Tome's goal looked a bit too open when Conrado Luz came free, but Sílvio Veloso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Conrado Luz in the 86th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sílvio Veloso prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Renato Carvalho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
