Chico Camargo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arí Godoi, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. Chico Camargo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arí Godoi in the 13th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Renato Carvalho got free with Chico Camargo in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 17 minutes, Denílson Nogueira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the AKAI FC and the Tome players grew even worse after the yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in AKAI FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 17th minute. Penalty! Through an outstanding action, after 23 minutes, Chico Camargo successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. When the match had gone on for 27 minutes, Renato Carvalho put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Chico Camargo. Zeca Camargo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Caetano Domingues during the 35th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Arí Godoi was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 38th minute. Tome's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. When the match had gone on for 38 minutes, Renato Carvalho took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Chico Camargo to make any attempt to save it. Chico Camargo made a fantastic save in the 48th minute, when Renato Carvalho sent off a good shot on target. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Zeca Camargo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Valdemar Penha hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Renato Carvalho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tome's supporters rose to their feet, but Renato Carvalho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Chico Camargo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 58 minutes into the match, AKAI FC's goal looked a bit too open when Renato Carvalho came free, but Chico Camargo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 60 minutes into the game, Tome's Arí Godoi nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Chico Camargo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. Renato Carvalho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chico Camargo having to interfere. If Paulinho Munhoz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a defensive mix-up in AKAI FC's zone, Renato Carvalho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Chico Camargo came out of the goal and Renato Carvalho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Chico Camargo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Renato Carvalho in the 80th minute of play. The supporters of Tome booed when AKAI FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zeca Camargo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bebeto Mineiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Caetano Domingues fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sílvio Veloso having to interfere. Denílson Nogueira scored 3-1 in the 93rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sílvio Veloso, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to AKAI FC getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Valdemar Recife hit a great ball. The Tome players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
