The supporters of Marotos de Torrinha F.C. booed when Rianopolis was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Richard Trevisan, 71 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Tarcisio Domingues's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Claudinei Quirino read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 80th minute of play. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Rianopolis lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
