A collision led to Sarandi Futebol Clube getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Sérgio de Andrade hit a great ball. Albertinho de Almeida recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 10th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Itapoa's Wellington Toledo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Albertinho de Almeida in the 14th minute of play. In the 21st minute Leonel Pontes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tião Paes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sérgio de Andrade kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. Afonsinho Barral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tião Paes having to interfere. When Itapoa's Afonsinho Barral in the 27th minute got a chance for a shot 27th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Tião Paes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leonel Pontes in the 33rd minute of the match. Afonsinho Barral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 36th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sarandi Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Tião Paes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Afonsinho Barral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

In the 54th match minute, Sarandi Futebol Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anselmo Moreno to maneuver through the defense. In the 56th minute, Itapoa got a penalty, and Patrick Penha placed the ball unsaveable into goal, by the right post. If Leonel Pontes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With his leg Tião Paes managed to avoid a goal in the 62ndth minute, when Itapoa's Afonsinho Barral fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Leonel Pontes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Tião Paes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Afonsinho Barral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tião Paes having to interfere. Tião Paes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leonel Pontes in the 75th minute of play. If Leonel Pontes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tião Paes made a fantastic save in the 91st minute, when Afonsinho Barral sent off a good shot on target. When Afonsinho Barral came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Itapoa fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Afonsinho Barral couldn't finish the play. Leonel Pontes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 98th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tião Paes having to interfere. In the 101st play minute Afonsinho Barral came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Tião Paes. 0-3. Itapoa's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
