But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Virgilio Blum couldn't finish the play. After the first half Liga Palhocense were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Virgilio Blum was the one to do the kick off. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Anísio Pontes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Anísio Pontes was out of position in the 91 minute of play, and Virgilio Blum capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Virgilio Blum really showed his touch with that goal: 1-5. Rafael Schmidt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Téo Neto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Liga Palhocense's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
