Pinhais FC's Vânderson Gonçalves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dino Amaral in the 6th minute of play. Horácio Cruz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vânderson Gonçalves having to interfere. In the 9th minute, Edson Vieira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Anhandui's Edgar Maia got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Horácio Cruz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vânderson Gonçalves having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Pinhais FC's zone, Dino Amaral stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vânderson Gonçalves came out of the goal and Dino Amaral tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Edgar Maia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 24th match minute, Pinhais FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Róbson Catarinense to maneuver through the defense. When Horácio Cruz came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the Anhandui fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Horácio Cruz couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Anhandui's Cacá Queiroz got a free kick in the 26th minute. Horácio Cruz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vânderson Gonçalves having to interfere. After 40 minutes, Rogério Trevisan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pinhais FC and the Anhandui players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 40 played minutes Pinhais FC got a freekick which was hit by Rogério Trevisan. Horácio Cruz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vânderson Gonçalves having to interfere. Anhandui's Clemente Brodel pulled a muscle in his leg after 47 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Edson Vieira's late challenge caught a Anhandui's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Edson Vieira helped the player get up and apologised. Edson Vieira hit a great freekick 48 minutes into the match. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Edgar Maia was the one to do the kick off. When Edson Vieira was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 55 minutes had been played. After a rather tough play, Pinhais FC's Edson Vieira got a free kick in the 56th minute. With a little luck, Pinhais FC's Vânderson Gonçalves got control of the ball when Edgar Maia tried to sneak it across the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dino Amaral during the 66th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 66 played minutes Anhandui got a freekick which was hit by Dino Amaral. Edgard Soares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Xie Kun Fan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Anhandui booed when Pinhais FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Evandro Guerra didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Edgard Soares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Edgard Soares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Xie Kun Fan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Anhandui's Severino Rodrigues got a free kick in the 79th minute. Dino Amaral kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. In the 82nd minute of the match Paulo Zonta shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Xie Kun Fan showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Róbson Catarinense charged in rather forcefully in the 83rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Róbson Catarinense the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. When Severino Rodrigues was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 85 minutes had been played. A collision led to Anhandui getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Severino Rodrigues hit a great ball. Anhandui's Horácio Cruz got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Edgard Soares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Xie Kun Fan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
