Orlando Quadros shot from long distance in the 6th minute, but Xie Kun Fan was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. 8 minutes into the match, Mutantes Esporte Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Edgar Maia came free, but Anísio Pontes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Edgar Maia's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Anísio Pontes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 9th minute of play. 11 minutes into the game, Horácio Cruz cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Anísio Pontes was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Mutantes Esporte Clube's Anísio Pontes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Horácio Cruz in the 15th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Mutantes Esporte Clube's Téo Neto got a free kick in the 17th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Mutantes Esporte Clube's zone, Edgar Maia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Anísio Pontes came out of the goal and Edgar Maia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 22 minutes into the match, Mutantes Esporte Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Edgar Maia came free, but Anísio Pontes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpected shot in the 25th minute by Téo Neto got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. If Edgar Maia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 31st minute Horácio Cruz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anísio Pontes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Anísio Pontes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edgar Maia, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Edgar Maia managed to get in a good position for a shot. Anhandui's supporters rose to their feet, but Edgar Maia was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Anísio Pontes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Mutantes Esporte Clube's Rony Marquez got a free kick in the 36th minute. If Horácio Cruz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 41st minute Horácio Cruz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anísio Pontes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Anísio Pontes came out of the goal in the 44th minute to try and stop a shot by Anhandui's Edgar Maia. But to his dismay, Edgar Maia quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Horácio Cruz was the one to do the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Edgar Maia managed to get in a good position for a shot. Anhandui's supporters rose to their feet, but Edgar Maia was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Anísio Pontes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Horácio Cruz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anísio Pontes having to interfere. The supporters of Mutantes Esporte Clube booed when Anhandui was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Clemente Brodel didn't get a good kick on the ball. 59 minutes into the game, Dino Amaral was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Anhandui's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mutantes Esporte Clube the free kick. Dino Amaral hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. After 62 played minutes Anhandui got a freekick which was hit by Clemente Brodel. Humberto Barreto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 71st minute, Horácio Cruz reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Anísio Pontes. The goal made the score 0-3. Horácio Cruz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Anísio Pontes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 75th minute of play. When Edgar Maia came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Anhandui fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edgar Maia couldn't finish the play. Anhandui's Dino Amaral got his second yellow card of the match in the 82nd minute. The referee ordered Dino Amaral off the ground. Dino Amaral kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. Xie Kun Fan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Humberto Barreto, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. A collision led to Mutantes Esporte Clube getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Clemente Alves hit a great ball. In the 93rd minute, Téo Neto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Vinícius Moura charged in rather forcefully in the 94th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vinícius Moura the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 95th match minute, Mutantes Esporte Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vinícius Moura to maneuver through the defense. The Mutantes Esporte Clube supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Anhandui's performance. The match ended with a win for Anhandui.
