If Osvaldinho Lago had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 33rd match minute, Puxinana was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wilian Hermes to maneuver through the defense. When Cleiton da Silveira came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Puxinana fans jumped to their feet. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hortêncio Prestes to make the kick off.
