Rony de Moraes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 7th minute, Augusto Mangueira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 14 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Grêmio Footbaal PA's Flávio Messias fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. Duarte Campidelis's late challenge caught a Grêmio Footbaal PA's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Duarte Campidelis helped the player get up and apologised. 19 minutes into the game, one of Lamacre:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Rony de Moraes had in the 20thth minute some difficulties stopping Nico Queirós's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Rony de Moraes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Décio Arce in the 21st minute of play. 23 minutes into the match, Flávio Messias had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rony de Moraes. Lamacre's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Flávio Messias was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 26th minute Flávio Messias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rony de Moraes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rony de Moraes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Flávio Messias, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Décio Arce in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rony de Moraes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Rony de Moraes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Elivélton Coutinho went, in the 38th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Augusto Mangueira hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Rony de Moraes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Flávio Messias in the 43rd minute of the match. After the first half Grêmio Footbaal PA were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When Décio Arce came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Grêmio Footbaal PA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Décio Arce couldn't finish the play. Telmo Meirelles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rony de Moraes stood somewhat misplaced when Telmo Meirelles came free in front of goal and shot 0-7 to the left of him in the 89 minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Grêmio Footbaal PA's Décio Arce slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Rony de Moraes. That made the score 0-8 after 98 minutes of play. Grêmio Footbaal PA's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
