Reynaldo Vinhas stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fellipe Linares's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. FC Morgenau's Fellipe Linares got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 33 minutes, Fellipe Linares put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Reynaldo Vinhas. The supporters of Caucaia FC booed when FC Morgenau was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eduardo Mota didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in FC Morgenau's zone, Bruninho Guerra stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Afonsinho Furlan came out of the goal and Bruninho Guerra tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Afonsinho Furlan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bruninho Guerra, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Reynaldo Vinhas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fellipe Linares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gugu Sousa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Afonsinho Furlan having to interfere. Reynaldo Vinhas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fellipe Linares, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. After having played for 96 minutes, Fellipe Linares managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Morgenau's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fellipe Linares was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
