When Luisinho Mota came up free with the goalie in the 5th minute, the Shrewsbury Town fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luisinho Mota couldn't finish the play. Celsinho Barros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcelo Marinho in the 13th minute of play. Luisinho Mota scored 2-0 in the 14th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tomé Tróia, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Luisinho Motas short, quick shot in the 17thth minute got Tomé Tróia to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. A hard shot 19 in the game by Luisinho Mota from a close distance when the talented Tomé Tróia managed to make a qualified save. Jubilados do Mangue's players were relieved. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Luisinho Mota managed to get in a good position for a shot. Shrewsbury Town's supporters rose to their feet, but Luisinho Mota was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tomé Tróia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Celsinho Barros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from André Mandrak, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tomé Tróia was out of position in the 40 minute of play, and Egídio Braga capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Egídio Braga really showed his touch with that goal: 3-0. Luisinho Mota fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tomé Tróia having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

In the 52nd minute, Davi Quintal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 55thth minute of the game Luisinho Mota who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Jubilados do Mangue's Tomé Tróia was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Jubilados do Mangue's zone, Luís Matorin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tomé Tróia came out of the goal and Luís Matorin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luisinho Mota's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tomé Tróia read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 60th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 62 minutes, Luisinho Mota put it in 4-0 from a short distance just to the right of Tomé Tróia. 70 minutes into the game, one of Jubilados do Mangue:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Jubilados do Mangue:s Tomé Tróia showed great skill when he stopped Egídio Braga:s penalty. Marcelo Marinho struck a weak shot in the 75th minute. Celsinho Barros didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Jubilados do Mangue. After 78 played minutes Jubilados do Mangue got a freekick which was hit by Nuno Neiva. Luisinho Mota might have been able to make a better finish in the 78th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tomé Tróia. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luisinho Mota ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience was convinced that Luisinho Mota's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tomé Tróia was relentless in the 80th minute of the game. A collision led to Jubilados do Mangue getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Nuno Neiva hit a great ball. When Shrewsbury Town's Luisinho Mota in 83 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Tomé Tróia guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Tomé Tróia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luisinho Mota in the 87th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 89 minutes, Luisinho Mota put it in 5-0 from a short distance just to the right of Tomé Tróia. In the 93rdth minute of the game Luisinho Mota who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Jubilados do Mangue's Tomé Tróia was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 95th minute of the match Laércio Britto sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Tomé Tróia skillfully saved the ball. 97 minutes into the match, Jubilados do Mangue's goal looked a bit too open when Luisinho Mota came free, but Tomé Tróia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Shrewsbury Town's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
