With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luisinho Mota in the 4th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kléberson Toledo saved Tafu FC from getting behind. Egídio Braga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Kléberson Toledo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luisinho Motas short, quick shot in the 7thth minute got Kléberson Toledo to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 8th minute, Luís Matorin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Shrewsbury Town getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Elder Quintal hit a great ball. Luisinho Mota sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Egídio Braga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Jacinto da Fonseca fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tafu FC's protests and gave Jacinto da Fonseca a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Tafu FC's Jacinto da Fonseca got a free kick in the 17th minute. Luisinho Mota who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 19thth minute tested the skills of Kléberson Toledo when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Luisinho Mota's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kléberson Toledo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 23rd minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 25 minutes, Kléberson Toledo successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Egídio Braga in the 40th minute of play forced Tafu FC's goalkeeper Kléberson Toledo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luisinho Mota's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 45thth minute, Kléberson Toledo skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tarcisio Reis to make the kick off. In the 58th minute the ball was on its way in behind Shrewsbury Town's goalkeeper Celsinho Barros, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Luisinho Mota's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kléberson Toledo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 64th minute of play. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After having played for 70 minutes, Luisinho Mota managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Shrewsbury Town's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luisinho Mota was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luisinho Mota in the 73rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kléberson Toledo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Douglas da Rocha's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Celsinho Barros read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 85th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Douglas da Rocha managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tafu FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Douglas da Rocha was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Celsinho Barros breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
