Spectators: 6767 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1667, VIP seats: 100) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Mathias de Barros kicked off to start the match. When Tiago Cavalcante came up free with the goalie in the 3rd minute, the Manaira fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tiago Cavalcante couldn't finish the play. If Mathias de Barros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 12th minute, Mathias de Barros got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Manaira booed when São Carlense was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jefferson Pontes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gilvan Secco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jefferson Pontes, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. São Carlense's Diego Amorim got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gilvan Secco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Diego Amorim, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Manaira's Gilvan Secco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Diego Amorim in the 25th minute of play. 29 minutes into the match, Manaira's goal looked a bit too open when Geovânio de Carvalho came free, but Gilvan Secco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match clock showed 32 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Geovânio de Carvalho sped through Manaira's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Gilvan Secco. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mathias de Barros in the 36th minute of play forced São Carlense's goalkeeper Hermínio Simões to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half São Carlense were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Diego Amorim to make the kick off. São Carlense's Hermínio Simões played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Júlio Nogueira in the 52nd minute of play. Rômulo Fernandes's late challenge caught a São Carlense's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rômulo Fernandes helped the player get up and apologised. Gilvan Secco had in the 58thth minute some difficulties stopping Romário Almeida's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Hermínio Simões took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tiago Cavalcante, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gilvan Secco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Romário Almeida in the 63rd minute of play. The audience was convinced that Diego Amorim's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gilvan Secco was relentless in the 64th minute of the game. Hermínio Simões showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mathias de Barros, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. After 75 minutes, Jefferson Pontes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the São Carlense and the Manaira players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 75th minute, Jefferson Pontes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 78th minute, Geovânio de Carvalho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Diego Amorim recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tiago Cavalcante received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Hermínio Simões tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gilvan Secco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Diego Amorim in the 95th minute of the match. Geovânio de Carvalho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 98th minute of the match, but Gilvan Secco made a huge save. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched São Carlense eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
