In the 7th match minute, São Carlense was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dito Godoi to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Alcobaca defense, Diego Amorim kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Raúl Veloso. The Alcobaca fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Raúl Veloso should have stopped the shot. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Geovânio de Carvalho in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Raúl Veloso prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 22 minutes into the match, Alcobaca's goal looked a bit too open when Geovânio de Carvalho came free, but Raúl Veloso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hermínio Simões made a fantastic save in the 24th minute, when Cléberson Penha sent off a good shot on target. Cléberson Penha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Hermínio Simões tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cléberson Penha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, São Carlense's Hermínio Simões got control of the ball when Cléberson Penha tried to sneak it across the goal line. 36 minutes into the match, São Carlense's goalkeeper Hermínio Simões had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cléberson Penha. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Danilo Massa was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Alcobaca's goalkeeper Raúl Veloso, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Hermínio Simões took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Danilo Massa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cléberson Penha blasted a shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Hermínio Simões having to make a save. If Danilo Massa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Alcobaca's zone, Geovânio de Carvalho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Raúl Veloso came out of the goal and Geovânio de Carvalho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Danilo Massa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Alcobaca getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Artur Tavares hit a great ball. São Carlense's Diego Amorim got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Raúl Veloso was out of position in the 74 minute of play, and Diego Amorim capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Diego Amorim really showed his touch with that goal: 0-2. Geovânio de Carvalho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Raúl Veloso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 86 minutes, Diego Amorim managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. São Carlense's supporters crossed their fingers, but Diego Amorim was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Maicon Donato hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. Raúl Veloso acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 89th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Romário Almeida. After 91 minutes, Geovânio de Carvalho made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. Alcobaca's Raúl Veloso tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. São Carlense walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
