Demônios de Serrana's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ismael Andrade was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Ismael Andrade had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 14 minutes into the game, Demônios de Serrana's Ismael Andrade nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Almir Peres made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. When Hortêncio Abreu came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the LEGIONÁRIOS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hortêncio Abreu couldn't finish the play. Ismael Andrade succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-0 in the 21st playminute. After 24 played minutes LEGIONÁRIOS got a freekick which was hit by Erik Amaral. In the 27th minute, José Vítor Domingues hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 37th minute Erik Amaral shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabrício Ferreira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Chiquinho Monteiro might have been able to make a better finish in the 40th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Almir Peres. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Chiquinho Monteiro ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 42nd minute, Ismael Andrade made a precise shot to the right of Almir Peres. LEGIONÁRIOS's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. Almir Peres showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Chiquinho Monteiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Erik Amaral to make the kick off. Ismael Andrade blasted a shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Almir Peres having to make a save. In the 72nd minute, Chiquinho Monteiro left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Demônios de Serrana fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. If Chiquinho Monteiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 77 minutes into the game, one of LEGIONÁRIOS:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Almir Peres went to the wrong direction when Pedro Paulo Sá was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Ismael Andrade fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Almir Peres having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by José Vítor Domingues during the 89th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of LEGIONÁRIOS booed when Demônios de Serrana was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. José Vítor Domingues didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fabrício Ferreira made a fantastic save in the 92nd minute, when Hortêncio Abreu sent off a good shot on target. Chiquinho Monteiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Almir Peres tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Perivaldo Maranhense hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ismael Andrade in the 98th minute of play forced LEGIONÁRIOS's goalkeeper Almir Peres to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Demônios de Serrana walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
