Luiz Fernando Vaz's late challenge caught a Alcobaca's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vito Mello fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raúl Veloso having to interfere. Cléberson Penha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 29th minute, Maicon Donato hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 32 played minutes Letras FC got a freekick which was hit by Manfredo de Godoi. A collision led to Alcobaca getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Wilson Recife hit a great ball. In the 36th minute of the match Enéas Mazza shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Raúl Veloso showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 38th minute, Manfredo de Godoi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Letras FC's Vito Mello got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Raúl Veloso made an important save on a dangerous shot by Giovanni Pinheiro in the 45th minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Vito Mello to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Alcobaca booed when Letras FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luiz Fernando Vaz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cléberson Penha received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Willian Luz came out and tried to block the shot, but Cléberson Penha slotted it home off the left post making it 0-1 in the 74th minute. In the 78th minute, Vito Mello ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Raúl Veloso was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. In the 84thth minute of the game Vito Mello who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Alcobaca's Raúl Veloso was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.
