Spectators: 7201 (Terracing: 5402, Seating: 1656, VIP seats: 143) Trocadeiro AD's Nestor Valle started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hudson Gaspar in the 9th minute of play forced Ipatinga F.C's goalkeeper Denílson Ferraz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wilson Dante made a fantastic save in the 12th minute, when César Lopes sent off a good shot on target. After 14 played minutes Trocadeiro AD got a freekick which was hit by Lino Carneiro. Trocadeiro AD's defense didn't have a chance, in the 16th minute, when Edu Batista scored to the left of an out of position Wilson Dante, making the score, 1-0. César Lopes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Wilson Dante tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. César Lopes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Hudson Gaspar came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Trocadeiro AD fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hudson Gaspar couldn't finish the play. Denílson Ferraz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nestor Valle, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ipatinga F.C's Denílson Ferraz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nestor Valle in the 37th minute of play. 40 minutes into the match, Reynaldo Moura notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Ipatinga F.C's Denílson Ferraz. Denílson Ferraz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Nestor Valle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Edu Batista made the kick off in the second half. Nestor Valle struck a weak shot in the 58th minute. Denílson Ferraz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Trocadeiro AD. Zé Roberto Proença hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. After 67 played minutes Trocadeiro AD got a freekick which was hit by Luís Eduardo Dante. Hudson Gaspar blasted a shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Denílson Ferraz having to make a save. After 74 played minutes Trocadeiro AD got a freekick which was hit by Lino Carneiro. If Nestor Valle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 95th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ipatinga F.C's goalkeeper Denílson Ferraz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Many of Trocadeiro AD's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Trocadeiro AD may have spent more time on the ball, but Ipatinga F.C were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
