Spectators: 7198 (Terracing: 5400, Seating: 1655, VIP seats: 143) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Tiaguinho Neves started the match with the kick off. Abelardo França hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. Edu Batista fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Beto Viana having to interfere. Wágner Tasso's late challenge caught a Ipatinga F.C's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Wágner Tasso helped the player get up and apologised. Wágner Tasso hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Edu Batista managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ipatinga F.C's supporters rose to their feet, but Edu Batista was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Beto Viana breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Tiaguinho Neves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wágner Tasso took the ball and in the 30 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Denílson Ferraz. Denílson Ferraz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Denílson Ferraz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tiaguinho Neves in the 42nd minute of play. The audience was convinced that Tiaguinho Neves's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Denílson Ferraz was relentless in the 43rd minute of the game. If Abelardo França had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 46thth minute of the game Tiaguinho Neves who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ipatinga F.C's Denílson Ferraz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Denílson Ferraz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zézinho Rodrigues in the 49th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The wind increased when Edu Batista made the kick off in the second half. When Edu Batista fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ipatinga F.C's protests and gave Edu Batista a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Ipatinga F.C getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Edu Batista hit a great ball. In the 53rd minute of the match, Abelardo França got a very nice opportunity to score, but Denílson Ferraz was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 55th minute TOT UNITD were awarded a corner. Almir Moraes went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Almir Moraes almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Ipatinga F.C's Denílson Ferraz did a great save. In the 57th match minute, TOT UNITD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Almir Moraes to maneuver through the defense. Tiaguinho Neves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Denílson Ferraz having to interfere. Leopoldo Figueiredo charged in rather forcefully in the 66th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Leopoldo Figueiredo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 67th match minute, Ipatinga F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leopoldo Figueiredo to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 68 minutes, Tiaguinho Neves managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. TOT UNITD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tiaguinho Neves was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 73 played minutes TOT UNITD got a freekick which was hit by Zézinho Rodrigues. Ipatinga F.C's Kiko Baptista couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for TOT UNITD. César Lopes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Beto Viana having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Abelardo França got free with Denílson Ferraz in the 83rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 85thth minute of the game Wágner Tasso who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ipatinga F.C's Denílson Ferraz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Denílson Ferraz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tiaguinho Neves's shot from short distance in the 86th minute. After a defensive mix-up in TOT UNITD's zone, Edu Batista stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Beto Viana came out of the goal and Edu Batista tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Beto Viana showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from César Lopes, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. Abelardo França received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Denílson Ferraz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 95th minute Tiaguinho Neves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Denílson Ferraz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Abelardo França received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Denílson Ferraz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match was over TOT UNITD could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Ipatinga F.C throughout the match.
