The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some fancy dribbling in the 5th minute, Beto Koehler managed to get in a good position for a shot. Atibaia City FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Beto Koehler was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Beto Viana breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 7 minutes into the match, TOT UNITD's goal looked a bit too open when Alfredinho Proença came free, but Beto Viana reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Abelardo França had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Antônio Carlos Vides took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abelardo França, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 11 played minutes Atibaia City FC got a freekick which was hit by Zé Paulo da Rocha. Atibaia City FC's Antônio Carlos Vides played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tiaguinho Neves in the 13th minute of play. Tiaguinho Neves blasted a shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Antônio Carlos Vides having to make a save. Abelardo França sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Atibaia City FC booed when TOT UNITD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Reynaldo Guedes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Wágner Tasso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Antônio Carlos Vides tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Delfim Loyola fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Beto Viana having to interfere. Márcio Godoi charged in rather forcefully in the 32nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. After 34 played minutes Atibaia City FC got a freekick which was hit by Delfim Loyola. After 35 played minutes, TOT UNITD's Almir Moraes shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Antônio Carlos Vides came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in TOT UNITD reached it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tiaguinho Neves in the 41st minute of play forced Atibaia City FC's goalkeeper Antônio Carlos Vides to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

The wind increased when Alfredinho Proença made the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute Alfredinho Proença shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Beto Viana saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 92nd minute, Beto Koehler got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Alfredinho Proença managed to get in a good position for a shot. Atibaia City FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Alfredinho Proença was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Beto Viana breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
