Spectators: 7222 (Terracing: 5418, Seating: 1661, VIP seats: 143) Yan Ramos came out of the goal in the 3rd minute to try and stop a shot by Ipatinga F.C's César Lopes. But to his dismay, César Lopes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edu Batista in the 7th minute of play forced Guveia's goalkeeper Yan Ramos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 9th minute the ball was on its way in behind Guveia's goalkeeper Yan Ramos, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Gilmar Pitta recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Guveia's zone, Edu Batista stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Yan Ramos came out of the goal and Edu Batista tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Guveia's Gilmar Pitta got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 22nd of the match, Geraldo Motta tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Denílson Ferraz got in the way and made a wonderful save. Denílson Ferraz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gilmar Pitta in the 27th minute. Gilmar Pitta could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but Denílson Ferraz made a huge save. After 35 played minutes Guveia got a freekick which was hit by Alfredinho Pena. Edu Batista received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Yan Ramos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Edu Batista to make the kick off. Yan Ramos made a fantastic save in the 60th minute, when César Lopes sent off a good shot on target. After 64 minutes, Alfredinho Pena mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Guveia and the Ipatinga F.C players grew even worse after the yellow card. Alfredinho Pena kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Guveia's Geraldo Motta got a free kick in the 65th minute. After 70 minutes of play, Guveia's Gilmar Pitta made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Denílson Ferraz was left in no man's land by his defense there! The audience thought a goal was coming when César Lopes got free with Yan Ramos in the 76th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 79 played minutes, Ipatinga F.C's Maurinho Garcia shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Yan Ramos came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ipatinga F.C reached it. Yan Ramos acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 81st minute, took the ball on the long shot from Maurinho Garcia. In the 84th minute, Gilmar Pitta left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Guveia fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Ipatinga F.C's Denílson Ferraz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Geraldo Motta in the 92nd minute of play. Gilmar Pitta got in the 93rd a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Denílson Ferraz handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. In the 95th minute, Kauã de Almeida hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ipatinga F.C's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
