After some careless play in the Santos FC defense, Válter Faria kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Inácio Rodrigues. The Santos FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Inácio Rodrigues should have stopped the shot. Inácio Rodrigues made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Válter Faria in the 29th minute of play. Válter Faria might have been able to make a better finish in the 33rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Inácio Rodrigues. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Válter Faria ran back to his position shaking his head. When Santos FC's Ricardo Baptista in the 98th minute got a chance for a shot 98th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Silveirania's goalie prevented a goal. Santos FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
