Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Ricardo Baptista got the match started through his kick off. Denílson Berger was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 3 minutes into the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 3rd minute of the game. One of Santos FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Tatarem:s goal. Edu Gomes shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Inácio Rodrigues took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Reginaldo de Souza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A hard shot 18 in the game by Gilmar Melo from a close distance when the talented Inácio Rodrigues managed to make a qualified save. Santos FC's players were relieved. If Reginaldo de Souza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 24 minutes into the game, Ricardo Baptista was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Santos FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tatarem the free kick. 24 minutes into the game, one of Santos FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 25th minute, the referee gave Tatarem a penalty. Edu Gomes looked confident and blasted the ball into goal by the left post, totally unstoppable for Inácio Rodrigues. Gilmar Melo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Maurinho Fernandes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wilson Capixaba, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Gilmar Melo came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Tatarem fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gilmar Melo couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Santos FC's zone, Gilmar Melo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Inácio Rodrigues came out of the goal and Gilmar Melo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 45 minutes into the match, Santos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Reginaldo de Souza came free, but Inácio Rodrigues reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 46th match minute, Santos FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by José Augusto Corrêa to maneuver through the defense. In the 47th minute of the match, Gilmar Melo got a very nice opportunity to score, but Inácio Rodrigues was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. When the match had gone on for 47 minutes, Gilmar Melo took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Inácio Rodrigues to make any attempt to save it.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Reginaldo de Souza to make the kick off. Inácio Rodrigues showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gilmar Melo in the 54th minute of the match. Wilson Capixaba sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 57th minute, Vito Mota got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Edu Gomes fell near the penalty area in the 59th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tatarem's protests and gave Edu Gomes a yellow card for diving instead. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 58th minute of the game. One of Tatarem:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Santos FC:s goal. Rodolfo Freitas shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. In the 66th minute of the match Elivélton Velasco shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Inácio Rodrigues showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Jonas Leite's late challenge caught a Santos FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jonas Leite helped the player get up and apologised. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Reginaldo de Souza in the 72nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Inácio Rodrigues prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 74 minutes into the match, Santos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Reginaldo de Souza came free, but Inácio Rodrigues reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Inácio Rodrigues took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Reginaldo de Souza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gilmar Melo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Inácio Rodrigues having to interfere. Edu Gomes was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 81st played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Inácio Rodrigues didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gilmar Melo went, in the 92nd minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. After some fancy dribbling in the 100th minute, Reginaldo de Souza managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tatarem's supporters rose to their feet, but Reginaldo de Souza was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Inácio Rodrigues breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Tatarem fans cheered their team off the field, for while Santos FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
