Douglas Donato took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jerônimo Schmidt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 63 minutes into the match, Vasco da Gama's goal looked a bit too open when Jerônimo Schmidt came free, but Douglas Donato reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fabinho Melo during the 64th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 64th match minute, Vasco da Gama was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fabinho Melo to maneuver through the defense. Vasco da Gama's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-8. 82 minutes into the match, Vasco da Gama's goalkeeper Douglas Donato had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rui Campidelis. Fabinho Melo kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. Jerônimo Schmidt blasted a shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Douglas Donato having to make a save. Marcelinho Torres recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Ernesto Eger fell near the penalty area in the 91st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vasco da Gama's protests and gave Ernesto Eger a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Vasco da Gama getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Eurico Baiano charged in rather forcefully in the 96th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Eurico Baiano the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Shelter getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Eurico Baiano hit a great ball.
