The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Tuiuti's Wágner Ferraz got a good chance for a goal in the 6th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Mostarda EC's Maurício Rocha proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to save Mostarda EC from getting a goal against them. Maurício Rocha made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when Wágner Ferraz sent off a good shot on target. In the 15th match minute, Tuiuti was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dário Simões to maneuver through the defense. After 19 minutes of play, Mostarda EC's José Maria Loyola made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tião Santos was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Tuiuti's Cido Silveira, in the 23rd minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Tuiuti. When the match had gone on for 27 minutes, Allan Paranaense put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Tião Santos. The audience thought a goal was coming when Wágner Ferraz got free with Maurício Rocha in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Cido Silveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when José Maria Loyola stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The Tuiuti fans' excitement grew in the 60th match minute when Tuiuti's Cido Silveira looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 65th minute of the match Túlio Arce shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Maurício Rocha showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Maurício Rocha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wágner Ferraz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 71 played minutes, Tuiuti's Túlio Arce shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Maurício Rocha came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Tuiuti reached it. Mostarda EC's Maurício Rocha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cido Silveira in the 72nd minute of play. In the 74th minute, Duda de Amorim hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Mostarda EC's zone, Cido Silveira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Maurício Rocha came out of the goal and Cido Silveira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Maurício Rocha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cido Silveira in the 81st minute of play. Mostarda EC's Maurício Rocha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wágner Ferraz in the 84th minute of play. Cido Silveira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cido Silveira in the 95th minute of play forced Mostarda EC's goalkeeper Maurício Rocha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wágner Ferraz succeeded in the game's 97th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-2. Tuiuti were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Mostarda EC to leave the ground with a draw.
