An unexpectedly hard shot by Raúl Abraão in the 12th minute of play forced Flamengo RJ's goalkeeper Olívio Vergílio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 14 minutes into the match, Flamengo RJ's goalkeeper Olívio Vergílio had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Robinho Barral. Flamengo RJ's defense didn't have a chance, in the 31st minute, when Olívio Nunes scored to the left of an out of position Olívio Vergílio, making the score, 2-0. Bernard Bojanowski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Augusto Toledo in the 43rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benedito Brasil in the 45th minute of play forced Granito RS's goalkeeper Bernard Bojanowski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

Bernard Bojanowski made a fantastic save in the 51st minute, when Carlos Augusto Breckenfeld sent off a good shot on target.
