Kiko Neves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Dino Fernandes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulo Domingues having to interfere. In the 7th minute, Sandrinho Linares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Wilson Marquez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kiko Neves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edmundo Bezerra got free with Paulo Domingues in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Nelsinho Lago scored 0-1 in the 20th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Wilson Marquez, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kiko Neves in the 25th minute of play forced Val Hallar's goalkeeper Wilson Marquez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 30th minute the ball was on its way in behind Rubro Negro Rj's goalkeeper Paulo Domingues, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dino Fernandes in the 31st minute of play forced Rubro Negro Rj's goalkeeper Paulo Domingues to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Dino Fernandes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpected shot in the 38th minute by Dino Fernandes got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Paulo Domingues came out of the goal in the 39th minute to try and stop a shot by Val Hallar's Fabrício Fontes. But to his dismay, Fabrício Fontes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. After 44 played minutes Rubro Negro Rj got a freekick which was hit by Caco Lago. Val Hallar's Dino Fernandes got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Edmundo Bezerra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Paulo Domingues tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

In the 54thth minute of the game Fabrício Fontes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Rubro Negro Rj's Paulo Domingues was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Fabrício Fontes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dino Fernandes's late challenge caught a Rubro Negro Rj's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dino Fernandes helped the player get up and apologised. After 59 played minutes Val Hallar got a freekick which was hit by Dino Fernandes. Sandrinho Linares charged in rather forcefully in the 63rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sandrinho Linares the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A throw-in in the 66th minute of the game was made by José Maria Fontes with Fabrício Fontes as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. After a rather tough play, Rubro Negro Rj's Humberto de Sena got a free kick in the 69th minute. In the 74th minute the ball was on its way in behind Rubro Negro Rj's goalkeeper Paulo Domingues, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Paulo Domingues showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edmundo Bezerra in the 75th minute of the match. After having played for 77 minutes, Dino Fernandes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Val Hallar's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dino Fernandes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Josué Paes hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. In the 79th minute, Kiko Neves got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Wilson Marquez was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Caco Lago showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-2 in the 85 minute of play. 90 minutes into the match, Val Hallar's goal looked a bit too open when Caco Lago came free, but Wilson Marquez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Paulo Domingues showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dino Fernandes, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. The Rubro Negro Rj players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Val Hallar from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
