After 5 minutes, Tião Pombal mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the GladiadoresFC and the Rubro Negro Rj players grew even worse after the yellow card. Tião Pombal hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. Humberto de Sena kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. After recieving a nice pass, GladiadoresFC's Clóvis Santos tried to score from far away in the 12th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Paulo Domingues showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gildo Lago, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. 16 minutes into the match, GladiadoresFC's Gildo Lago sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Paulo Domingues narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 20th minute Nelsinho Lago shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diamantino Carvalho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 26 minutes, Nelsinho Lago managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rubro Negro Rj's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nelsinho Lago was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nelsinho Lago received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Diamantino Carvalho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nelsinho Lago sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Nelsinho Lago's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Diamantino Carvalho was relentless in the 34th minute of the game. When Nelsinho Lago came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Rubro Negro Rj fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nelsinho Lago couldn't finish the play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nelsinho Lago to make the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in GladiadoresFC's zone, Kiko Neves stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Diamantino Carvalho came out of the goal and Kiko Neves tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Diamantino Carvalho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nelsinho Lago, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 57 minutes into the match, Rubro Negro Rj's Kiko Neves sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Diamantino Carvalho narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Kiko Neves came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Rubro Negro Rj fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kiko Neves couldn't finish the play. 62 minutes into the match, Kiko Neves had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Diamantino Carvalho. GladiadoresFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kiko Neves was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. 65 minutes into the game, Rafa Macedo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. GladiadoresFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Rubro Negro Rj the free kick. Rafa Macedo hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. Nelsinho Lago took the ball and in the 72 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Diamantino Carvalho. Diamantino Carvalho dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Horácio Custódio's late challenge caught a Rubro Negro Rj's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Horácio Custódio helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to GladiadoresFC getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Horácio Custódio hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Nelsinho Lago managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rubro Negro Rj's supporters rose to their feet, but Nelsinho Lago was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Diamantino Carvalho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Diamantino Carvalho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nelsinho Lago, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match clock showed 85 minutes, the score became 3-0 when Kiko Neves sped through GladiadoresFC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Diamantino Carvalho. Diamantino Carvalho didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nelsinho Lago went, in the 89th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. 94 minutes into the match, Rubro Negro Rj's goalkeeper Paulo Domingues had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cícero Batista. Rubro Negro Rj's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
