The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 15th minute of the game. One of Inter Florida E.C:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Descalvado FC:s goal. Umberto Loyola charged in rather forcefully in the 20th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Umberto Loyola the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 20th match minute, Inter Florida E.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Umberto Loyola to maneuver through the defense. Laerte Paes kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Descalvado FC's zone, Allan Lira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. When Doriva Bertassi fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Descalvado FC's protests and gave Doriva Bertassi a yellow card for diving instead. 0-2 became the score in the 28th minute when Luiz Gustavo Simões elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Inter Florida E.C's Benjamin Porto got a free kick in the 33rd minute. After having played for 37 minutes, Lucas Bueno managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Inter Florida E.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lucas Bueno was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Donato Faria hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. Betinho Matos, 46 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. The Inter Florida E.C players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Descalvado FC were winning 0-2.

The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Inter Florida E.C. The goalkeeper, Aírton Prata, was totally fooled by Descalvado FC's Luan Guedes, who 96 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Descalvado FC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
