Trovão MZC's Davi Quirino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fernandão Fernandes in the 19th minute of play. After 29 played minutes Trovão MZC got a freekick which was hit by Artur Fernandez. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Luiz Paulo Nóbrega managed to get in a good position for a shot. Beco Futebol Clube's supporters rose to their feet, but Luiz Paulo Nóbrega was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Davi Quirino breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Fernandão Fernandes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Davi Quirino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Davi Quirino didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Beco Futebol Clube. Rodrigo Paraense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gilmar Tróia, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Beco Futebol Clube's zone, Tarcisio Sanches stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rodrigo Paraense came out of the goal and Tarcisio Sanches tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

A collision led to Beco Futebol Clube getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Cícero Capixaba hit a great ball. If Gilmar Tróia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tarcisio Sanches sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Gilmar Tróia came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Trovão MZC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gilmar Tróia couldn't finish the play.
