A collision led to Ragnarok getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Nuno Domingues hit a great ball. Arí Simão took the ball and in the 35 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Paulo José Baiano. Paulo José Baiano dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Paulo José Baiano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luiz Eduardo Barros in the 43rd minute of play. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Luiz Eduardo Barros stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Paulista United's Paulo José Baiano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arí Simão in the 52nd minute of play. Paulo José Baiano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arí Simão in the 61st minute of play. Arí Simão took the ball and in the 65 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Paulo José Baiano. Luiz Eduardo Barros could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Paulo José Baiano made a huge save. After having played for 72 minutes, Luiz Eduardo Barros managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ragnarok's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luiz Eduardo Barros was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Ragnarok booed when Paulista United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rubens Mendonça didn't get a good kick on the ball.
