The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Matheus Barros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edgard de Sena, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. Maktub's Sidnei Pirani couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 16th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Muirapinima FC. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Alfredinho Galvão managed to get in a good position for a shot. Maktub's supporters rose to their feet, but Alfredinho Galvão was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cléber Duarte breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cléber Duarte made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfredinho Galvão in the 20th minute of play. In the 24th minute, Romário Machado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 25 minutes in the game, Edgard de Sena dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. When Cleiton Galvão came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Muirapinima FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cleiton Galvão couldn't finish the play. Alfredinho Galvão might have been able to make a better finish in the 31st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cléber Duarte. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alfredinho Galvão ran back to his position shaking his head. When Zeca Fonseca fell near the penalty area in the 35th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Muirapinima FC's protests and gave Zeca Fonseca a yellow card for diving instead. Zeca Fonseca kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. Cléber Duarte took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maurinho Rosado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maurinho Rosado in the 44th minute of play forced Muirapinima FC's goalkeeper Cléber Duarte to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 47 minutes, Edgard de Sena managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Muirapinima FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edgard de Sena was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Edgard de Sena made the kick off in the second half. After 63 played minutes Alfredinho Galvão rounded Muirapinima FC's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-1. Cleiton Galvão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edgard de Sena in the 71st minute of play forced Maktub's goalkeeper Matheus Barros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Maktub getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Marco Ferraz hit a great ball. 73 minutes into the match, Maktub's goal looked a bit too open when Cleiton Galvão came free, but Matheus Barros reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 74 minutes into the match, Edgard de Sena notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Maktub's Matheus Barros. Matheus Barros was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Cléber Duarte took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfredinho Galvão, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Muirapinima FC's Zeca Fonseca got his second yellow card of the match in the 78th minute. The referee ordered Zeca Fonseca off the ground. Vivaldo Siqueira hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Dinei Esteves charged in rather forcefully in the 82nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dinei Esteves the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Maktub booed when Muirapinima FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dinei Esteves didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cléber Duarte made a fantastic save in the 86th minute, when Maurinho Rosado sent off a good shot on target. 94 minutes into the match, Muirapinima FC's goalkeeper Cléber Duarte had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Maurinho Rosado. If Cleiton Galvão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. For all the effort they put into the match, the Maktub players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Muirapinima FC.
