Adrianinho Ribeiro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Geovânio de Lima's shot from short distance in the 13th minute. In the 19th minute, Wilton Coutinho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Gilberto Cavalcante's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lenílson Souto was relentless in the 20th minute of the game. After having played for 24 minutes, Paulo Renato Lago managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. After a defensive mix-up in Pirajuda FC's zone, Gilberto Cavalcante stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lenílson Souto came out of the goal and Gilberto Cavalcante tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After the first half Sartubin were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Geovânio de Lima to make the kick off. Geovânio de Lima fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adrianinho Ribeiro having to interfere. 56 minutes into the match, Sartubin's goal looked a bit too open when Ronaldinho Araújo came free, but Adrianinho Ribeiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 57 played minutes Sartubin got a freekick which was hit by André Luís Nogueira. Pirajuda FC's Lenílson Souto proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 60th minute of the match, managed to save Pirajuda FC from getting a goal against them. Thanks to some nice moves Paulo Renato Lago could shoot a difficult shot in the 63rd minute, which Lenílson Souto however easily saved by the left post. Wilton Coutinho charged in rather forcefully in the 67th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Wilton Coutinho the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 67th match minute, Pirajuda FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wilton Coutinho to maneuver through the defense. Pirajuda FC's Geovânio de Lima got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 77 minutes into the match, Sartubin's goal looked a bit too open when Ronaldinho Araújo came free, but Adrianinho Ribeiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 78th minute, Ronaldinho Araújo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Pirajuda FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. With an all-out effort, Sartubin's Lenílson Souto threw himself towards the right post 90 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Gilberto Cavalcante, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 95 minutes into the game, Denílson Paulista cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Lenílson Souto was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When the match was over Sartubin could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Pirajuda FC throughout the match.
