In the 61st minute, Matheus Britto left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Vikings FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Aírton Borges was shown his second yellow card after 85 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After 86 played minutes Vikings FC got a freekick which was hit by Aírton Borges. After a defensive mix-up in Vikings FC's zone, Fernandinho Massa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edvaldo Valadares came out of the goal and Fernandinho Massa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Albertinho Abraão struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Edvaldo Valadares didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Coral. Coral's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
