Alquimistas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Andrézinho da Silva didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, PALMEIRAS's Nelson Marquez got a free kick in the 16th minute. Artur Miranda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfredo Abreu having to interfere. In the 23rd minute Tiaguinho Alvarenga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Samuel Pitta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Samuel Pitta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tiaguinho Alvarenga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Samuel Pitta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andrézinho da Silva, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Dorian Rodrigues fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Samuel Pitta having to interfere.
