After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Robinho Salgado managed to get in a good position for a shot. Convento FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Robinho Salgado was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Oscar Carioca breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 13 minutes into the match, Pirilampo FC's goal looked a bit too open when Cléberson Cruz came free, but Oscar Carioca reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 17th minute, Robinho Salgado left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Convento FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Cléberson Cruz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cléberson Cruz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oscar Carioca having to interfere. Carlos Fernando Messias's late challenge caught a Convento FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Convento FC's Robinho Salgado got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Dudu do Vale fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Convento FC's protests and gave Dudu do Vale a yellow card for diving instead. Cléberson Cruz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Oscar Carioca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Pedro Luiz Sanches made a kick off. Robinho Salgado who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 52ndth minute tested the skills of Oscar Carioca when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 52nd match minute, Pirilampo FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by João Adolfo Soares to maneuver through the defense. Robinho Salgado's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 59thth minute, Oscar Carioca skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Robinho Salgado could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 60th minute of the match, but Oscar Carioca made a huge save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cléberson Cruz in the 65th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Oscar Carioca saved Pirilampo FC from getting behind. If Robinho Salgado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 69 played minutes Pirilampo FC got a freekick which was hit by Otávio Dante. Robinho Salgado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Robinho Salgado recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Oscar Carioca showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cléberson Cruz in the 79th minute of the match. Robinho Salgado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Oscar Carioca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Cléberson Cruz came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Convento FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cléberson Cruz couldn't finish the play. Pedro Luiz Sanches's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Juninho Cerezo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 90th minute of play. Oscar Carioca was a little too slow when Cléberson Cruz got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 93rd minute. The score was now 0-3. When the final whistle sounded Convento FC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Pirilampo FC.
