The supporters of Muriaé FC booed when Pote was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Waldemar Ferraz didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rodrigo Perez during the 43rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cléberson Pimenta in the 54th minute of play forced Pote's goalkeeper Faustão Mesquita to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 55th minute the ball was on its way in behind Muriaé FC's goalkeeper João de Godoi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 80th match minute, Pote was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Manoel Urbano to maneuver through the defense. Pote's Faustão Mesquita proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save Pote from getting a goal against them. Pote's Luiz Guilherme Rocha got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Pote's Giovanni Paraense got a free kick in the 90th minute. Luiz Guilherme Rocha scored 5-1 in the 93rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of João de Godoi, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Zé Augusto Silva came up free with the goalie in the 98th minute, the Pote fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zé Augusto Silva couldn't finish the play. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Pote had played much better football throughout.
