Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Diamantino Brasil started the match with the kick off. Arthur de Amaral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Miguel Barbosa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aírton Viana showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Diamantino Brasil, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. Diamantino Brasil did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Aírton Viana 13 minutes into the match. Miguel Barbosa hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. After having played for 19 minutes, Luiz Fernando Trigo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Calamar's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luiz Fernando Trigo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 20 played minutes Calamar got a freekick which was hit by Waldemar Tavares. Arthur de Amaral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aírton Viana having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Arthur de Amaral managed to get in a good position for a shot. PAYSANDU's supporters rose to their feet, but Arthur de Amaral was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aírton Viana breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Diamantino Brasil received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Aírton Viana tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 34 minutes into the game, one of Calamar:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Aírton Viana went to the wrong direction when Edmundo Miranda was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Aírton Viana made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Diamantino Brasil in the 38th minute of play. A hard shot 39 in the game by Arthur de Amaral from a close distance when the talented Aírton Viana managed to make a qualified save. Calamar's players were relieved. Arthur de Amaral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Luiz Fernando Trigo was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arthur de Amaral in the 55th minute of play forced Calamar's goalkeeper Aírton Viana to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aírton Viana made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arthur de Amaral in the 64th minute of play. Simão Siqueira came out of the goal in the 66th minute to try and stop a shot by Calamar's Dedê Fernandez. But to his dismay, Dedê Fernandez quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. In the 76th minute, Marcelo Leite sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Calamar's Aírton Viana didn't even have to move. Arthur de Amaral received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Aírton Viana tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 80 minutes into the match, Calamar's goal looked a bit too open when Diamantino Brasil came free, but Aírton Viana reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 92 minutes, Arthur de Amaral managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. PAYSANDU's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arthur de Amaral was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With his leg Simão Siqueira managed to avoid a goal in the 95thth minute, when Calamar's Dedê Fernandez fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Calamar's Aírton Viana played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arthur de Amaral in the 97th minute of play. PAYSANDU were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Calamar to leave the ground with a draw.
