After a defensive mix-up in Murucupi's zone, Giovanni Marques stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. José Augusto Souza came out of the goal and Giovanni Marques tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 5 played minutes Murucupi got a freekick which was hit by Daniel Britto. 6 minutes into the match, Murucupi's goal looked a bit too open when Arthur Capixaba came free, but José Augusto Souza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match clock showed 11 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Farid Priem sped through Sorriso Esporte Clube's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Silvinho de Toledo. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Giovanni Marques managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sorriso Esporte Clube's supporters rose to their feet, but Giovanni Marques was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. José Augusto Souza breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Arthur Capixaba came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the Sorriso Esporte Clube fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arthur Capixaba couldn't finish the play. Arthur Capixaba recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Murucupi booed when Sorriso Esporte Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nicolas Quintal didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 23rd minute Farid Priem shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Silvinho de Toledo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arthur Capixaba recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Arthur Capixaba received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. José Augusto Souza tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Murucupi's Farid Priem got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Murucupi's Vitinho Falcão got a free kick in the 33rd minute. If Arthur Capixaba had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Farid Priem in the 37th minute of play forced Sorriso Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Silvinho de Toledo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half Murucupi were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

In the 52nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Sorriso Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Silvinho de Toledo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Arthur Capixaba struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. José Augusto Souza didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sorriso Esporte Clube. Arthur Capixaba fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Augusto Souza having to interfere. The supporters of Murucupi booed when Sorriso Esporte Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nicolas Quintal didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 68thth minute of the game Farid Priem who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sorriso Esporte Clube's Silvinho de Toledo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Murucupi's Farid Priem in the 72nd minute got a chance for a shot 72nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Sorriso Esporte Clube's goalie prevented a goal. If Arthur Capixaba had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 80 minutes into the match, Murucupi's goal looked a bit too open when Giovanni Marques came free, but José Augusto Souza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Jaime Tinoco fell near the penalty area in the 82nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Murucupi's protests and gave Jaime Tinoco a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Sorriso Esporte Clube booed when Murucupi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jaime Tinoco didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 85th match minute, Sorriso Esporte Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antônio Toscano to maneuver through the defense. In the 93rd minute, Farid Priem fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. The Sorriso Esporte Clube supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Murucupi's performance. The match ended with a win for Murucupi.
