In the 15th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sorriso Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Silvinho de Toledo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Black Lotus's zone, Arthur Capixaba stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cacá Paes came out of the goal and Arthur Capixaba tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpected shot in the 29th minute by Giovanni Marques got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After a rather tough play, Sorriso Esporte Clube's Sebastião Cardoso got a free kick in the 31st minute. If Marquinhos Damião had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Giovanni Marques fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cacá Paes having to interfere. In the 37th minute, Arthur Capixaba fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Arthur Capixaba in the 39th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cacá Paes saved Black Lotus from getting behind. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Marquinhos Damião managed to get in a good position for a shot. Black Lotus's supporters rose to their feet, but Marquinhos Damião was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Silvinho de Toledo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Arthur Capixaba received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Cacá Paes came out and tried to block the shot, but Arthur Capixaba slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 47th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Arthur Capixaba to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Arthur Capixaba ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Cacá Paes was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. After 56 played minutes Black Lotus got a freekick which was hit by Arlindo Pires. When Sorriso Esporte Clube's Arthur Capixaba in the 61st minute got a chance for a shot 61st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Black Lotus's goalie prevented a goal. Cacá Paes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Arthur Capixaba's shot from short distance in the 67th minute. The supporters of Sorriso Esporte Clube booed when Black Lotus was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joélson Paranaense didn't get a good kick on the ball. 82 minutes into the match, Black Lotus's goal looked a bit too open when Arthur Capixaba came free, but Cacá Paes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 86 played minutes Black Lotus got a freekick which was hit by Joélson Paranaense. 88 minutes had been played when some careless play by Black Lotus's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Luiz Eduardo Baptista was slow to take the kick. During this time Sorriso Esporte Clube's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Sorriso Esporte Clube's Luiz Eduardo Baptista to fire away a dangerous shot which Cacá Paes despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Giovanni Marques received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 98th minute. Cacá Paes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Black Lotus's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
