Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Eriberto Lira could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 5th minute of the match, but Noel Madureira made a huge save. 7 minutes into the game, Mateus Rezende recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Noel Madureira. Mateus Rezende showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Jean Vidal's late challenge caught a Grêmio's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jean Vidal helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Chiba's Jean Vidal got a free kick in the 9th minute. Grêmio's Eriberto Lira got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Chiba's Noel Madureira proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to save Chiba from getting a goal against them. Noel Madureira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mateus Rezende, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. In the 19th minute, Grêmio's Guilherme Quintal ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Noel Madureira. Noel Madureira yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. Ediberto Medeiros charged in rather forcefully in the 24th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ediberto Medeiros the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Ediberto Medeiros hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Eriberto Lira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Eriberto Lira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cléberson Jacinto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rodolfo Arantes in the 35th minute of play. Pedro Luiz Matorin hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Eriberto Lira could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but Noel Madureira made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Valdir Cardoso got free with Noel Madureira in the 46th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.

Guilherme Quintal hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Noel Madureira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eriberto Lira in the 56th minute of play. Noel Madureira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eriberto Lira in the 59th minute of the match. Noel Madureira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valdir Cardoso, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. Pedro Luiz Matorin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Noel Madureira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mateus Rezende in the 66th minute of play. Eriberto Lira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Noel Madureira having to interfere. If Eriberto Lira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 72nd minute, Pedro Luiz Matorin reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Cléberson Jacinto. The goal made the score 2-1. In the 77th minute, Vicente Couto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eriberto Lira in the 82nd minute of play forced Chiba's goalkeeper Noel Madureira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Noel Madureira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mateus Rezende, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mateus Rezende received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Noel Madureira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Noel Madureira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eriberto Lira in the 86th minute of play. When Pedro Luiz Matorin came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Chiba fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pedro Luiz Matorin couldn't finish the play. 88 minutes into the game, Cléber Nogueira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Chiba's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Grêmio the free kick. In the 88th minute, Cléber Nogueira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Eriberto Lira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Noel Madureira having to interfere. 95 minutes into the match, Chiba's goal looked a bit too open when Eriberto Lira came free, but Noel Madureira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. There was no doubt that Grêmio were the better team. Grêmio's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
