Mauro Queiroz started the match with the kick off. In the 4th minute, Nilmar Galvão ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Thomás Abraão was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. After a defensive mix-up in FAVELA FC's zone, Mauro Queiroz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cafu Viana came out of the goal and Mauro Queiroz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of The Wolfs FC booed when FAVELA FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Teodoro Aguiar didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Mauro Queiroz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 16th match minute, The Wolfs FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mauro Queiroz to maneuver through the defense. Thomás Abraão made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nilmar Galvão in the 20th minute. When Nilmar Galvão came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the FAVELA FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nilmar Galvão couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Nilmar Galvão managed to get in a good position for a shot. FAVELA FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Nilmar Galvão was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Thomás Abraão breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thomás Abraão was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Nilmar Galvão showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 4-0 in the 36 minute of play. The Wolfs FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 40th minute, when Chiquinho Varela scored to the left of an out of position Thomás Abraão, making the score, 5-0. Nildo Vargas kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Chiquinho Varela stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in The Wolfs FC's zone, Nilmar Galvão stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Thomás Abraão came out of the goal and Nilmar Galvão tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nilmar Galvão took the ball and in the 58 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Thomás Abraão. Thomás Abraão dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 6-0. 61 minutes into the game, FAVELA FC's Chiquinho Varela nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Thomás Abraão made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 7-0. The Wolfs FC's Thomás Abraão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nilmar Galvão in the 65th minute of play. Thomás Abraão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Chiquinho Varela, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. In the 68th minute Nilmar Galvão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thomás Abraão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 71 minutes into the match, Nilmar Galvão had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Thomás Abraão. The Wolfs FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nilmar Galvão was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 8-0. Chiquinho Varela received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Thomás Abraão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thomás Abraão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Chiquinho Varela, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thomás Abraão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Chiquinho Varela, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. In the 82nd minute, Gilberto Marinho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. FAVELA FC's Cacá Valle couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for The Wolfs FC. Chiquinho Varela sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 89 minutes, Nildo Vargas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The Wolfs FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nildo Vargas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mauro Queiroz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Cafu Viana tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thomás Abraão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chiquinho Varela in the 94th minute of play. Mauro Queiroz's late challenge caught a FAVELA FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mauro Queiroz helped the player get up and apologised. The FAVELA FC support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
