After some fancy dribbling in the 6th minute, Anderson Barros managed to get in a good position for a shot. Oeste's supporters rose to their feet, but Anderson Barros was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marcelo Arósio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Tião Oliveira's late challenge caught a Oeste's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tião Oliveira helped the player get up and apologised. After 18 played minutes Riachaozinho got a freekick which was hit by Tião Oliveira. Oeste's Renatinho Branco got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Murillo Monteiro came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the Oeste fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Murillo Monteiro couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Oeste booed when Riachaozinho was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Norberto Azevedo didn't get a good kick on the ball. 29 minutes into the match, Renatinho Branco notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Riachaozinho's Marcelo Arósio. Marcelo Arósio was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Marcelo Arósio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Renatinho Branco, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Frank Mendes took the ball and in the 35 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marcel Pena. The Riachaozinho fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marcelo Arósio should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, Riachaozinho's Norberto Azevedo got a free kick in the 82nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Renatinho Branco in the 86th minute of play forced Riachaozinho's goalkeeper Marcelo Arósio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 87 played minutes Riachaozinho got a freekick which was hit by Gonçalo Schmidt. When Renatinho Branco came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Oeste fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Renatinho Branco couldn't finish the play. In the 93rd match minute, Riachaozinho was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gonçalo Schmidt to maneuver through the defense. Although Oeste had been in control for most of the match, Riachaozinho still came away with the win.
