Charles Quintal stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sebastião Valladares's shot from short distance in the 8th minute. Charles Quintal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gláuber Vander, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Celsinho Maranhenses short, quick shot in the 13thth minute got Ramiro Esteves to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Claudinho Veloso charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Claudinho Veloso the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Claudinho Veloso kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. After having played for 18 minutes, Gláuber Vander managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Thiagueira FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gláuber Vander was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 20th minute Luizinho Paulista shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ramiro Esteves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ramiro Esteves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luizinho Paulista in the 22nd minute of the match. Gláuber Vander might have been able to make a better finish in the 27th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Charles Quintal. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gláuber Vander ran back to his position shaking his head. 27 minutes into the match, Sebastião Valladares notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Guarakessaba AD's Charles Quintal. Charles Quintal was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Celsinho Maranhense sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 39th minute the ball was on its way in behind Thiagueira FC's goalkeeper Ramiro Esteves, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Sebastião Valladares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Charles Quintal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Celsinho Maranhense's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ramiro Esteves read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 56th minute of play. Celsinho Maranhense sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Luizinho Paulista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Celsinho Maranhense came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Guarakessaba AD fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Celsinho Maranhense couldn't finish the play. Luizinho Paulista struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Ramiro Esteves didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Guarakessaba AD. 68 minutes into the match, Thiagueira FC's goal looked a bit too open when Celsinho Maranhense came free, but Ramiro Esteves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Gláuber Vander fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Thiagueira FC's protests and gave Gláuber Vander a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Thiagueira FC getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Gláuber Vander hit a great ball. After 73 played minutes Guarakessaba AD got a freekick which was hit by Fabinho Favoretto. Ramiro Esteves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Doni Donato in the 75th minute of play. Guarakessaba AD's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by André Pereira in the 79th minute. Ramiro Esteves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luizinho Paulista in the 83rd minute of the match. Charles Quintal came out of the goal in the 85th minute to try and stop a shot by Thiagueira FC's Sebastião Valladares. But to his dismay, Sebastião Valladares quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. If Luizinho Paulista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 96 minutes into the match, Thiagueira FC's goal looked a bit too open when Celsinho Maranhense came free, but Ramiro Esteves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Thiagueira FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
