Luís Gustavo Pereira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from André Netto, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. André Netto's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Luís Gustavo Pereira read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 15th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling André Netto in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Luís Gustavo Pereira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Botafogo's André Netto in 20 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Luís Gustavo Pereira guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Mateus Trancoso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Gustavo Pereira having to interfere.
