Erik Vergílio was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 37 played minutes Guarakessaba AD got a freekick which was hit by Fabinho Favoretto. Erik Vergílio stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luizinho Paulista's shot from short distance in the 44th minute. When Paulinho Pena came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Serra Talhada FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Paulinho Pena couldn't finish the play. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Luizinho Paulista made the kick off in the second half. Erik Vergílio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luizinho Paulista in the 52nd minute of the match. After having played for 70 minutes, Paulinho Pena managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Serra Talhada FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Paulinho Pena was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 74th minute Paulinho Pena shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Charles Quintal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Luizinho Paulista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Serra Talhada FC's Erik Vergílio proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 81st minute of the match, managed to save Serra Talhada FC from getting a goal against them. In the 82nd match minute, Serra Talhada FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joélson Ramalho to maneuver through the defense. When Luizinho Paulista, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 83 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Erik Vergílio was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. With a little luck, Serra Talhada FC's Erik Vergílio got control of the ball when Celsinho Maranhense tried to sneak it across the goal line. Tiago Gabriel Reis charged in rather forcefully in the 90th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tiago Gabriel Reis the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Serra Talhada FC getting a freekick after 91 minutes play.
