The referee gave Woller FC a penalty, 8 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Rui do Valle, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Esmires Futebol's Enio Velasco. 0-1. Inácio Alvarenga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Téo Viana having to interfere. In the 78th minute, Gilmar Teixeira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Inácio Alvarenga's late challenge caught a Woller FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Inácio Alvarenga helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Esmires Futebol getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Inácio Alvarenga hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Woller FC's zone, Gilmar Teixeira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Téo Viana came out of the goal and Gilmar Teixeira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Gilmar Teixeira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Téo Viana made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Murillo Passos in the 92nd minute of play. When Nicolas Dracena came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Woller FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nicolas Dracena couldn't finish the play. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Esmires Futebol lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
