Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Carlos Fontes made the kick off which started today's match. José Augusto Velasco blasted a shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jefferson Santos having to make a save. After 21 minutes, Adrianinho Barreto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Brasilia and the cuiabá players grew even worse after the yellow card. César Andrade showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlos Fontes in the 38th minute of the match. 41 minutes into the match, cuiabá's goalkeeper César Andrade had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ronaldão Figueiredo. The corner went over the outstretched arms of cuiabá's goalie and right to Yuri Macedo. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Claudinei Berger kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. In the 67th minute, César Vasconcelos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 69 minutes into the match, cuiabá's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Fontes came free, but César Andrade reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
