After having played for 12 minutes, Pedro Paulo Correia managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. A.A.Francana's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pedro Paulo Correia was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cacá Peres received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Maicon Jacinto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A.A.Francana's Daniel Hermes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agnaldo Melo in the 17th minute of play. Agnaldo Melo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Daniel Hermes having to interfere. After 25 minutes, Oséias Godoi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Assungui EC and the A.A.Francana players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 25th minute, Oséias Godoi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With his leg Maicon Jacinto managed to avoid a goal in the 26thth minute, when A.A.Francana's Pedro Paulo Correia fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Agnaldo Melo struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Daniel Hermes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Assungui EC. Márcio de Castro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Daniel Hermes having to interfere. 31 minutes in the game, Cacá Peres fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Maicon Jacinto having to interfere. After 34 played minutes Assungui EC got a freekick which was hit by Dráusio Almeida. 36 minutes into the match, Pedro Paulo Correia had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Maicon Jacinto. Assungui EC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Pedro Paulo Correia was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cacá Peres in the 43rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Maicon Jacinto saved Assungui EC from getting behind. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Cacá Peres fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maicon Jacinto having to interfere. Eduardo Gaspar kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Assungui EC's zone, Cacá Peres stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Maicon Jacinto came out of the goal and Cacá Peres tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 60th minute, Umberto Vides sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and A.A.Francana's Daniel Hermes didn't even have to move. After a rather tough play, A.A.Francana's Cléber Paes got a free kick in the 67th minute. A.A.Francana's Daniel Hermes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 69th minute of the match, managed to save A.A.Francana from getting a goal against them. In the 71st match minute, Assungui EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cássio Goiano to maneuver through the defense. 72 minutes into the match, Assungui EC's goal looked a bit too open when Cléber Paes came free, but Maicon Jacinto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Pedro Paulo Correia came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the A.A.Francana fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pedro Paulo Correia couldn't finish the play. If Cacá Peres had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 89 minutes into the game, Victor Zanette cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Maicon Jacinto was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Cacá Peres sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Agnaldo Melo might have been able to make a better finish in the 95th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Daniel Hermes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Agnaldo Melo ran back to his position shaking his head. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
